    		• The "Team Euphoria Thermometer" project hasn't been updated for several years. Now that winter is in, it's a good time to set up a new thermometer using a newer probe from Dallas. I'll be using Windows and Linux this time again, and because Euphoria needs too much resources, I'll be controlling it with the last discovery: Reva Forth.

    This time we're going to use a DS1820 from Dallas Semiconductor. It's a 3-pin TO220 unit, that uses the Dallas proven 1-wire bus technology. This allows several differnt configurations:

  • A single standalone probe, powered from an external power supply
  • A single standalone probe, powered from the data line (parasite power)
  • A multidrop configuration to share the 1-wire bus among several probes
